In an unfortunate turn of events, actress Aakanksha Singh lost her dear father on Saturday, July 31. Aakanksha took to her official social media pages to share this news with her followers and well-wishers. Sharing a picture of her father, Aakanksha wrote, "Deeply saddened to inform that my father Dr. Gyan Prakash Singh breathed his last today. Please keep him and our family in your prayers". Details regarding the cause of death are yet to be known. The fans and leading film personalities are mourning the loss of actress Aakanksha's father on social media and at this moment, Galatta Media expresses deepest condolences to Aakanksha and her family members.

For the unversed, Aakanksha Singh started out as a serial actress and she acted in several popular serials like Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha (Colors TV) and Savdhaan India (Life OK), and Gulmohar Grand (Star Plus). Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha was dubbed and aired in Tamil as Nenjam Pesuthe on Polimer TV. Aakanksha made her debut as an actor in cinema with the Hindi film, Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which featured Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles. Aakanksha has also acted in Sumanth's Malli Raava (Telugu) and Kichcha Sudeep's Pailwaan (Kannada).

Aakanksha will be making her debut in Tamil cinema with the upcoming Aadhi Pinisetty starrer Clap, directed by debutant Prithivi Adithya. Clap is a sports drama that has music by the legendary composer, Isaignaani Ilaiyaraaja. Produced by IB Karthikeyan under the banner of Big Print Pictures, the film has cinematography by Praveen Kumar, editing by Ragul, and art direction by Vairabalan. The shooting of Clap is fully complete and the makers are working on the post-production.
