After being one of the most widely talked about global events which would decide the balance of power in the world, the US Presidential elections have now almost become fodder for fun! The Republican incumbent President Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Joe Biden contested for the Presidency, in the recently conducted US elections. The numbers turned in favour of Joe Biden and he was declared the winner. However, Donald Trump alleged electoral fraud and stated that he wouldn't concede defeat. He also mentioned that his campaign would go to Court, to challenge the election results. Though a few countries did not initially accept Biden as the next US President, almost all of them also acknowledged it eventually.

After refusing to concede defeat or acknowledge that Biden had won for long, Trump had tweeted on Sunday, mentioning that Biden had won because the elections had been rigged. His tweet read, "He won because the Election was Rigged (sic)". He later added that the victory was only in the eyes of the media. However, now Trump has taken a U-turn and backtracked his statement! Donald Trump's latest tweet says that it was him, who won the election. His new tweet reads, "I WON THE ELECTION!" It remains to be seen, what Trump has planned to do next.

Meanwhile, after running neck and neck in the polls, Biden surged ahead of Trump by winning in three Midwestern states - Wisonsin, Pennsylvania and Michigan. These helped him get over the threshold of 270 electoral votes, to land him the Presidency. Biden had polled a total of 77.5 million votes, the highest ever for a winning candidate in the history of the US elections. Donald Trump's votes tallied 72.3 million. Meanwhile, Trump's campaign is mounting lawsuits across the country but none of them are turning up anything as there has been no evidence of any illegality. While Trump has not yet conceded defeat nor even called on Biden, some reports from White House circles state that the staff are preparing for a second term for Trump. Stay tuned for updates...
