Snehaloka Cricket begins
Snehaloka's and Bharathi Vishnuvardhan's dream child Dr. Vishnuvardhan Memorial Tennis Ball Cricket Tournament began at the Jayanagar National College grounds on Sunday, 10th July.
The tournament, which is scheduled on every Sunday for the next two months, was inaugurated by ace cricketers G.R. Vishwanath, Anil Kumble, Raghunath, actor Shivarajkumar, Rockline Venkatesh and others.
Speaking after the inauguration, G.R. Vishwanath remembered his association with Dr. Vishnuvardhan. “Vishnu and I were friends from childhood. We played cricket together; I took it as a profession, while Vishnu became an actor. But he had a huge respect for cricket as well as cricketers. The respect for cricket itself is the main reason how Snehaloka was born. Today the tournament has started and many teams are playing in this tournament. Whoever emerges as the winner, I request everybody to play with the true spirit,” said G.R. Vishwanath.
The first match was played between Rotary 11 versus Shiva 11 (Shivarajkumar 11).
