Captain is an upcoming science-fiction action film written and directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan. The film stars Arya, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Simran in lead roles. Produced by Arya and T. Kishore under the banners of The Show People and Think Studios, the film has been scheduled to be released theatrically on September 8.
Earlier today, the makers of the film released the lyric video of the second single from the film titled 'Kylaa'. Shreya Ghoshal and Yazin Nizar have lent their voice to this melodious song which has been penned beautifully by Madan Karky. All these put together, plus the music composed by both Ranjan and D.Imman, elevate the song and give a lovely tune to it.
Captain will mark the second collaboration between Shakti Soundar Rajan and Arya as they have previously worked together on the 2021 fantasy action film Teddy which was released directly on Disney+ Hotstar. R Sakthi Saravanan has choreographed action scenes for the film which has editing by Pradeep E Raghav and cinematography by S Yuva. The satellite and digital rights of the film have been acquired by Zee Tamizh and Zee5 respectively The teaser and trailer of Captain are expected to be released later this month.
Captain is one among the much-expected Tamil movies that are hitting screens in the next month. Arya was previously seen in Anand Shankar's Enemy (streaming on SonyLIV) which was released last year. The action thriller marked the actor's first role as an antagonist. Captain will be his first outing this year and movie buffs have pinned high hopes on the film.
