Veteran actress Simran is back in the industry after a brief break and her upcoming venture Seema Raja is set to hit the screens on September 13. Simran has played a negative role opposite Sivakarthikeyan in the movie.



Simran is also a part of Superstar Rajinikanth's Petta directed by Karthik Subbaraj. In an exclusive interview with Galatta, Simran has spoken about Petta for the first time.



On getting the opportunity, Simran said, “Yes of course... Petta is my full package... In my career. First I got a message from Stone Bench saying that there is a film with Thalaivar and we would like to meet you for that. I thought it was just like a prank. I was hoping to act with Sir... One day it will happen.. Like that... But sometimes you don't believe... Like seriously…? It was like that to me... I got in touch with him and it was true and I was very happy that it was true. They called and narrated the script”




About Karthik Subbaraj, Simran said, “Karthik narrated the story... He is a young and talented guy. He has a very solid team with him. He is very clear. He doesn’t have any laptop, A4 sheets, Paper works on the sets. Have never seen them on set. He is so clear on what he needs to do. He told me this is what the movie is... This is what the story is.. You are going to be this. I said Yes... I am going to do because it is Thalaivar and said Thank you for thinking about me"




Simran also revealed Karthik Subbaraj’s reason for casting her in Petta. She said, “He said that we haven't seen you and Thalaivar together in so many years... I said Thank you... It's a very big thing... You have no idea. 15 years after my marriage. I got married in 2003 December and now it's 2018 and I am doing a movie with Thalaivar. Its excellent”





Petta has star cast of Vijay SethupathiTrishaSimran, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Ramdoss and music by Anirudh Ravichandran.
