A massive announcement dropped earlier this year in the form of Kamal Haasan and director Shankar joining hands once again after a gap of 22 years for Indian 2. The sequel to Indian, the blockbuster 1996 film will be produced by Lyca Productions with Kajal Aggarwal playing the female lead, Anirudh Ravichander scoring the music, Ravi Varman handling cinematography and T. Muthuraj for the art direction.
With production on the film set to kick-off after the first week of January 2019, sources close to us have now revealed that esteemed producer A. M. Rathnam will be co-producing Indian 2. The film is already one of the most awaited ventures in recent times as it will be coming out right before Kamal Haasan’s leap into full-time politics and also Shankar’s next after his recent mega blockbuster, 2.0, starring ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth.
