One of the busiest stars in Tamil cinema at present, 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi's Ka Pae Ranasingam, in which he was featured opposite Aishwarya Rajesh in an extended cameo, was released to positive reviews to a large extent. The versatile actor, who has also been seen this year in a special appearance in Oh My Kadavule, is at present attached to a number of projects that include the biggie, Master, in which he'll be seen playing the antagonist opposite 'Thalapathy' Vijay, director Seenu Ramasamy's Maamanithan, S. P. Jananathan's Laabam, Venkata Krishna Roghanth's Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir, Delhi Prasad Deenadayal's Tughlaq Durbar, Vignesh Shivn's Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, Kadaisi Vivasayi under Kaaka Muttai fame M. Manikandan's direction, including Uppena in Telugu, followed by Aamir Khan's Laal Singh Chaddha in Hindi. 

Among this huge lineup, Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming film, Laabam, under S. P. Jananathan has D. Imman scoring the music, with the chart-buster composer now revealing on Twitter that the team has roped in Tamil Eelam rapper Cleo VII from Switzerland for what he describes is an "energetic track". D. Imman tweeted, "Glad to Introduce a Tamil Eelam Rapper from Switzerland “CLEO VII” for an energetic track in VijaySethupathi,ShrutiHaasan starrer #Laabam Directed by SP Jananathan and Produced by @7CsPvtPte #DImmanMusical Praise God!" 

Vijay Sethupathi will be seen playing the role of a social activist in Laabam in which he has been paired opposite Shruti Haasan, while popular Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu is the antagonist. The second association for Vijay Sethupathi with director S. P. Jananathan after their Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai in 2015, the upcoming film also includes a talented supporting cast featuring names like Sai Dhanshika, Kalaiyarasan, Ramesh Thilak, Prithivi Rajan, Daniel Annie Pope, Nithish Veera, Jai Varman among others. The Laabam trailer, which released a while back received a strong response, with many complimenting the film's theme and also for addressing key social issues. A joint production venture of Vijay Sethupathi Productions and 7Cs Entertertainment Pvt.Ltd banners, the film has Ramji for cinematography, followed by N.Ganesh Kumar for editing, V. Selvakumar for art direction and Don Ashok overseeing the stunts.
