Former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in August and is currently leading the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing thirteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Dhoni's wife Sakshi announced a few days back that they would be developing a number of projects in the year ahead among which also includes a web series under the Dhoni Entertainment banner, which was launched in 2019 with the multilingual documentary, Roar of the Lion.

Sakshi Dhoni, who is the managing director of the production house, had announced that Dhoni Entertainment will first be adapting an unpublished book of a debutant author as a web series for which they had recently acquired the rights. She had stated that it would be a mythological sci-fi story exploring the journey of a mysterious Aghori amidst the backdrop of a high-tech facility on a remote island. Now, in a report published by Pinkvilla, it has been revealed that MS Dhoni’s debut web series will be adapted from a book titled The Hidden Hindu, which has been written by Akshat Gupta. It is being told that the story will primarily revolve around the fictional character of an Aghori born during the Satyug, but gets hidden in time, and is eventually found to be alive in the present day. Plans are on to make the web series on a massive scale, with the plot reportedly set around time travel. As of now, discussions in regard to the cast and director are ongoing, including the process of developing the series. As per reports, Dhoni Entertainment is also working on five other projects simultaneously.

Speaking about MS Dhoni, Sakshi had stated a while back that his first love continues to be cricket and that they are venturing into entertainment as a joint passion. She said their plan is to offer new and original content, while also making way for deserving talent to rise to the top on the world stage. She also stated that she is looking after the operations of Dhoni Entertainment, while MSD is partially involved. Both of them, she added would be taking a final call with their creative teams for inputs considering they want to produce good stories.
