Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi made his Malayalam cinema debut with Maarconi Mathaai, which was directed by Sanil Kalathil of Uthara fame. The film featured Jayaram, Athmiya Rajan, Shamna Kasim, and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Joy Mathew, Tini Tom, Ramesh Thilak, Lakshmi Priya, Aju Varghese, Alencier Ley Lopez, Sudheer Karamana, Mamukkoya, Narain, Reena Basheer, and others played supporting roles. Produced by Satyam Videos, the film had music scored by M Jayachandran and cinematography handled by Sajan Kalathil. The film opened to mixed reviews from the fans and critics for its uninteresting screenplay.

However, the other aspects like acting were well received and the fans were delighted to see Vijay Sethupathi and Jayaram share screen space together. The film will now have a dubbed release in Telugu and this dubbed version is titled Radio Madhav. Earlier this morning (November 6), the makers released the official trailer of Radio Madhav and it looked interesting. The Telugu dubbed trailer is exactly the same as the original Malayalam version except for the dubbed dialogues. The trailer shots have been retained completely. Vijay Sethupathi and Jayaram have a good fan following in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Radio Madhav has got the potential to create a decent buzz among the fans.

This Telugu dubbed version is presented by Lakshmi Chennakesava Films, who bankrolled the Telugu film Hey Pillagada. The trailer has been released on the official YouTube channel of Lahari Music who owns the film's audio rights. The Telugu lyrics and dialogues have been penned by Bhasya Sree. The trailer has opened to good reception with people getting excited seeing Vijay Sethupathi. Keeping this film aside, Vijay Sethupathi is a part of various exciting projects which are in different stages of production.

He had recently wrapped up the shooting of his untitled next with Taapsee, under the direction of Deepak Sundarrajan, in Jaipur. As of now, Vijay Sethupathi has completed the shooting and waiting for the releases of 5 films - Master, Maamanithan, Kadaisi Vivasayi, Yaadhum Oorey Yaavarum Kelir, and Uppena (Telugu). He is currently said to be shooting for Delhi Prasad's Tughlaq Durbar which features Raashi Khanna as the female lead. Vijay Sethupathi will also be acting in Vignesh Shivan's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal that has Nayanthara and Samantha as the female leads. The shooting of this romantic comedy film is yet to begin. Vijay Sethupathi ventured into digital space recently with Mani Ratnam's Navarasa, the anthology film for Netflix. He is a part of director Bejoy Nambiar's portion of Navarasa.
