A film that has captivated the imaginations of Tamil cinema fans around the world, Suriya's Soorarai Pottru directed by Sudha Kongara has been one venture that has seen the test of time. Scheduled for a direct Amazon Prime Video OTT release on November 12, the upcoming action drama film was initially announced to premiere on October 30, but had to be subsequently postponed. The team had not acquired a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Indian Air Force (IAF) considering the film is centred around the aviation industry. 

With the NOC granted and the promotion works for Soorarai Pottru in full swing once again, the second dialogue promo from the film has now been released and shows a few new visuals, while teasing us the plot, which revolves around one man's journey to make it big in the aviation industry. Being also dubbed in Telugu as Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra, Suriya is essaying a character named Nedumaran Rajangam aka Maara. 

The promotion material for Suriya's Soorarai Pottru has been receiving a strong response from fans world over, including the recently-released full-length trailer, which left everyone satisfied aplenty. Suriya's character is said to be based on the life of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan airliner. Apart from the visuals, the songs in the film too have witnessed a terrific feedback, with composer GV Prakash Kumar delivering five chart-buster tracks that include - the 'Maara Theme', 'Veyyon Silli', 'Mannurunda Mela', 'Kaattu Payale' and the recently-released friendship song titled 'Aagasam'.

Produced jointly by Suriya's 2D Entertainment and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment banners, Soorarai Pottru includes a highly talented and stellar technical team featuring names like Niketh Bommi for the cinematography, followed by editing done by Sathish Suriya. The film has Suriya paired opposite Sarvam Thaala Mayam actress Aparna Balamurali, with veteran Telugu actor Mohan Babu Paresh Rawal, Vivek Prasanna, Karunas among others cast in major supporting roles.
