The acclaimed actor, who has several big films up ahead in his lineup, recently attended a college function where he was asked about whether he would be making an appearance in 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Leo being directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He informed at the event that several people have asked him the same question and revealed that there's no development as such while requesting fans to not believe in any rumors.

Vijay Sethupathi further addressed the rumors that sprung up about his casting in Leo after the film's dialogue writer Rathna Kumar posted a photo on social media showing the actor's character Santhanam's glasses from Vikram (2022). The picture set off speculations that he would be making an appearance in the Vijay-starrer, with many speculating that Lokesh Kanagaraj was tying it up with his Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). The Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal actor clarified saying that he doesn't know why Rathna posted the photo adding that he must have done it playfully and only he can tell why he did so. It is to be noted that Vijay Sethupathi had previously played the villain in Vijay's 2021 box office blockbuster, Master, which too was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
Up until now, there has been no official confirmation regarding Leo being a part of the LCU, which was revealed to Tamil cinema audiences after a connection between 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vikram and Karthi's Kaithi (2019) was first established. Ever since it was first revealed that 'Thalapathy' Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj were collaborating once again, there has been a big debate about their second outing together being a part of the LCU, which fans are waiting with eager anticipation to become a reality. Being produced by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studio banner and featuring music by Anirudh Ravichander, Leo has been announced to arrive in cinemas on October 19 ahead of the Ayudha pooja holidays and stars Trisha as the female lead, with Bollywood superstar Sanjay Dutt cast as the antagonist, while 'Action King' Arjun, Mysskin, Gautham Menon, Priya Anand, among others, will be appearing in key roles.
