Jayam Ravi's latest film, Ponniyin Selvan: 2, directed by Mani Ratnam and featuring music composed by A. R. Rahman has turned out to be a stunning hit minting over 300+ crores in collections at the worldwide box office in less than two weeks' time. The leading Tamil actor portrayed Arunmozhi Varman in the epic historical action-adventure film, which is en route to surpassing the 500+ crore mark collected by Ponniyin Selvan: 1 released last year, and it now remains to be seen how big a box office juggernaut the sequel goes on to be. With PS: 2 turning out to be a massive hit, Jayam Ravi recently took part in a special fans festival event organized by Galatta Media in the presence of fans, which also saw his family members, including his wife Aarti Ravi grace the gala occasion.

Among the several surprises at the fans festival was iconic South Indian actress Nadiya, whose telephonic conversation with Jayam Ravi, was one of the biggest highlights of the event. During their conversation, Jayam Ravi went on to thank Nadiya for being a part of his second film, M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi, and called her a "legend". The iconic actress stated that she was very happy to be a part of the hit film and revealed that it was an unforgettable sweet memory in her career to collaborate with the actor, his brother Mohan Raja, and father editor Mohan. While wishing him the best for Ponniyin Selvan: 2, Jayam Ravi informed Nadiya that the success of PS: 1 was mainly because of her visit to the film's sets during filming, with the actress then stating that it was completely their whole team's efforts that have paid off. Nadiya and Jayam Ravi played mother and son in M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi, which went on to become one of the biggest blockbusters of 2004, and continues to be a memorable film for Tamil cinema fans.
