In that light, the duo had recently announced the title of their next production venture to be Walking Talking Strawberry Icecream apart from the films they are distributing under their banner. On Saturday, a formal pooja was conducted for Walking Talking Strawberry Icecream along with the big reveal that actor Krishna Kumar, who played the character Chaitanya "Che" Rao in Soorarai Pottru, has been cast in the lead role alongside singer Jonita Gandhi incidentally making her debut as a heroine.

The Rowdy Pictures Twitter handle tweeted a few pictures of the Walking Talking Strawberry Icecream film launch pooja along with the announcement that the production is all to kick-off. Billed to be a cute romantic love story, the upcoming film also marks the directorial debut of Vinayak V, with the title poster launched a few days back by 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, director Gautham Menon and 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander receiving a largely positive response from fans. Walking Talking Strawberry Icecream is already creating plenty of buzz with its casting of Krishna Kumar, who garnered a huge fan following after his performance in Soorarai Pottru. Likewise, singer Jonita Gandhi, who as well has a big fan base, has often been told by fans on social media to pursue acting and she will be looking to prove her mettle once again.

Walking Talking Strawberry Icecream is the next big film for Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan, especially after their upcoming crime thriller film, Netrikann, which has been directed by Milind Rau of Aval fame. The superstar couple is also co-producing their Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal in association with Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios, which will also include music by Anirudh. Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal will see Vignesh Shivan directing Nayanthara once again after their Naanum Rowdydhaan in 2015, with the upcoming film also starring Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Akkineni. Both Vignesh Shivan and Nayanthara are also distributing films like debut director Arun Matheswaran's film, Rocky that stars Taramani fame Vasanth Ravi and veteran director Bharathiraja in the lead roles. In addition, they had recently acquired the theatrical distribution rights of Koozhangal directed by debutant PS Vinoth Raj, which recently won the prestigious Tiger Award in the competition section of the International Film Festival of Rotterdam, incidentally making it the first Tamil film to win the honor.
