Singer-actress Mandy Moore welcomes her first child, shares sweet story behind baby's name
Popular American singer turned actress Mandy Moore has announced the birth of her first child, a son named August Harrison Goldsmith. Sharing an adorable picture of her newborn, Moore took to her Instagram page and wrote, "Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith. He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined. M + T."
Mandy Moore, who married singer-songwriter Taylor Goldsmith in November 2018, once again took to her Instagram page and this time to reveal a sweet story behind choosing the name August for her son. She wrote, "It was last August when @taylordawesgoldsmith and I found out we were having a boy (it’s also Taylor’s birth month) and we always loved the name... so it was settled very early on in our book. Then for our anniversary in November, T gifted me with this blanket with the “A” (for Amanda) made from extra material from my wedding dress and “T” (for Taylor) from his wedding shirt. Felt like a very fitting amalgamation of our whole story. I can’t wait to pass this on to our sweet August one day." Check out the posts below:
Earlier this month, Mandy had informed on social media that her birth plan had to be altered after her platelets had dropped during pregnancy. She said, "My platelets have dropped exponentially during pregnancy and it's sadly altered my birth plan." Moore and her musician husband Taylor Goldsmith got married after dating for three years and announced back in September 2020 about her pregnancy.
