The highly-anticipated Bigg Boss Tamil spinoff, Bigg Boss Ultimate, which is an exclusive OTT version of the hit reality Vijay TV show, has been announced to be launched on January 30 and will stream on Disney+ Hotstar. Bigg Boss Ultimate will see the return of the contestants from the previous seasons of Bigg Boss Tamil to battle it out for the title. Unlike Bigg Boss Tamil, Bigg Boss Ultimate will be a 24/7 live show that will stream only on the Disney+ Hotstar platform at any given time of the day and will not air on Vijay TV.
The upcoming show has taken a different step in introducing the contestants so far contrary to Bigg Boss Tamil where they are usually revealed to the world on the day the show is officially launched. In that light, two contestants, lyricist Snehan and Maria Juliana from Bigg Boss Tamil season 1, have been announced to be participating on Bigg Boss Ultimate, with the third individual to be entering the show as well being revealed on Wednesday. The latest to join Bigg Boss Ultimate has been officially announced to be none other than actress Vanitha Vijayakumar, who was the biggest USP on Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 in 2019. The new Bigg Boss Ultimate promo gives us a glimpse at Vanitha viewing footage of her Bigg Boss Tamil season 3 elimination in repeat mode similar to Ramya Krishnan's character in 'Superstar' Rajinikanth's 1999 blockbuster Padayappa in which she watches the marriage footage of the actor with late actress Soundarya. The Bigg Boss 3 sensation is then informed by Bigg Boss to stop watching her eviction and get ready for he entry on Bigg Boss Ultimate. Vanitha then issues a challenge to the contestants to await her entry, while informing that the real game is about to start next.
Vanitha's inclusion in Bigg Boss Tamil 3 turned out to be a massive addition as she was the subject of debate on several occasions and set the tone for the show. She garnered the distinction of being brought back on the show for the second time by fans after being eliminated and entered as a wild card. Bigg Boss Tamil season 3, which many fans continue to hail as the best season to date, witnessed a boom in its TRP ratings owing to Vanitha's presence on the show alongside a few other contestants. It will be interesting to witness her once again in action and this time in Bigg Boss Ultimate, which will pit her against several high profile and popular contestants from the rest of the Bigg Boss editions.
