A film that had long been awaited by Telugu cinema fans, 'Power Star' Pawan Kalyan's Vakeel Saab hit theatres on April 9 and began streaming on Amazon Prime Video on April 30. Vakeel Saab, which also incidentally marked the return of Pawan Kalyan to the big screen after three years when he was last seen in Agnyaathavaasi, had him playing the role of a lawyer, with the film being a remake of the smash hit 2016 Bollywood film, Pink, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles. As Vakeel Saab is being watched over streaming by many, Premam and Kodi actress Anupama Parameswaran, who has since become a popular name among Telugu fans, had also recently seen the film and showered praises on Pawan Kalyan as well as the rest of the cast.

Anupama tweeted, "Watched #vakeelsaabonprime last night on @primeVideoIN. Must say, powerful performances backed by a strong message! @PawanKalyan breaks barriers and makes the story stand out with the 3 leading ladies #nivetha #ananya #anjali. @prakashraaj  sir, film is incomplete without you." However, the tweet drew a largely negative response from a number of Pawan Kalyan's fans who questioned Anupama for not addressing the superstar by using the word 'sir'. Shortly after, Anupama issued an apology and wrote, "So sorry guys… just now I realised ‘@PawanKalyan gaaaru’ with all respect and love"

Jointly produced by Dil Raju and Boney Kapoor under their Sri Venkateswara Creations and Bayview Projects LLP banners, Vakeel Saab has been directed by Sriram Venu of MCA and Oh My Friend fame. Anjali, Nivetha Thomas and Ananya Nagalla played the roles of the sexual harassment victims in the film, which also had Shruti Haasan making a cameo appearance as Pawan Kalyan's wife. The film has drawn praise from fans, including comparisons with Pink and the 2019 Tamil remake, Nerkonda Paarvai, which had 'Thala' Ajith in the lead role, with Shraddha Srinath, Abhirami Venkatachalam and Andrea Tariang in supporting roles under H. Vinoth's direction.
