Vaibhav’s long delayed horror comedy film, Katteri, which was scheduled to release on December 25 in theatres, has now been postponed once again. However, this time the postponement is not due to any financial problems, but due to the recently found new Covid-19 strain. The second wave of the virus is said to be witnessed in several countries and intense lockdown is being implemented by some countries. It looks like the makers of Katteri did not want to take a risk by releasing their film now when the situation looks uncertain. More clarity regarding the Covid-19 situation is expected to be known in the coming days.

The film’s production house, Studio Green, in its official statement said “Considering the new threat of the second wave and having every one's safety in mind, we as a production house have the responsibility to take precautionary action since we are in uncertain times and situation right now. Taking into consideration of hundreds of technicians and craftsmen's hard work not getting showcased well We regret to inform you that we are postponing the release of our Tamil feature film, "KATTERI" in theatres for now. But will surely be out soon on theatres as the situation gets better and the threat gets dissolved, looking forward to announce the new date of release soon. THANK YOU".

Let us now wait for a few more weeks to know the new release plans of Katteri. The recently released trailer and sneak peek comedy scene received a very good response from the fans and they were eagerly looking forward to seeing the film in the theatres. Katteri is directed by Deekay of Yaamirukka Bayamey and Kavalai Vendam fame and has music scored by SN Prasad. The film's star cast includes Vaibhav, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Sonam Bajwa, Aathmika, Ponnambalam, Ravi Mariya, Karunakaran John Vijay, Mime Gopi, Manali Rathod, Jaangri Madhumitha, and others.

Vignesh Vasu and Praveen KL have handled the cinematography and editing departments respectively. The theatre exhibitors expected Katteri to do some good business at the box office, but the unfortunate turn of events due to the new Covid strain has changed the plans. We may even witness several other movies getting postponed due to the same reason. For now, check out Studio Green’s official statement regarding Katteri’s postponement here:
