After tasting back-to-back success with her last two films, Maanaadu and Hridayam, Kalyani Priyadarshan has now officially announced the release plans of her next film and here are the details about it. Kalyani will be seen playing the female lead in the upcoming Tovino Thomas starrer Thallumaala which is a Malayalam action comedy film. The film is directed by Khalid Rahman who is best known for directing movies like Anuraga Karikkin Vellam and Love. It has been officially announced that Thallumaala will be hitting the screens on August 12 and it will be released in theatres across the globe.

Kalyani Priyadarshan took to her official Twitter page to make the announcement regarding the release plans and the update has made the fans look forward to the project. She tweeted, "And we’ve set our release date! See you guys in Theatres soon! Thallumaala on August 12! @ttovino @ashiqusman #khalidrahman @parare #jimshikhalid #thallumaala". More details regarding the project are awaited. The shooting of Thallumaala has been wrapped up and the post production works are happening in full swing currently.

Produced by Ashiq Usman under the banner of Ashiq Usman Productions in association with Plan B Entertainments, this film has music composed by Vishnu Vijay while Jimshi Khalid and Nishadh Yusuf have handled the cinematography and editing departments respectively. Apart from the main leads, the film features several other prominent actors in pivotal roles including the likes of Shine Tom Chacko, Sharafudheen, Lukman Avaran, Swathi Das Prabhu, Vineeth Kumar, Johny Antony, Binu Pappu, Assim Jamal, and others. Kalyani has multiple other projects and they are in different stages of production.

On the other side, Tovino is gearing up for the release of his next movie, Vaashi, in which he has shared screen space with Keerthy Suresh. Vaashi, a courtroom drama, is set to hit the screens on June 17, Friday.
