The Legend is an upcoming Tamil film written and directed by popular ad filmmakers duo Joseph D. Sami and Jerald Arockiam, collectively known as J. D.–Jerry. The film stars an ensemble cast comprising the likes of Legend Saravanan, Urvashi Rautela (in her Tamil debut), Vivek, Vijayakumar, Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar, Suman, and Nassar. The music of the film is composed by Harris Jayaraj while the cinematography and the editing were handled by R. Velraj and Ruben respectively.
It has already been announced that The Legend is scheduled to be released theatrically on 28 July 2022 as a pan-Indian film as it will be made available to watch in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. It has now been announced that the film will be released worldwide as well. It will be carried on by the film distribution company AP International which specializes in the distribution of films in theatrical formats in international markets.
The team behind AP International took to their official Twitter handle to announce this news. While The Legend's international release has been sorted, the film will experience a massive release on a record number of screens all across Tamil Nadu through Madurai GN Anbu Chezhian's Gopuram Films. With Legend Saravanan in the lead role, this film will mark his debut as an actor and also the first production venture of the businessman-turned-actor's production house - The Legend New Saravana Stores Productions. This will also be Harris Jayaraj's comeback film after a nearly 3 year-long hiatus with his last film being the 2019 action thriller Kaappaan.
