The success of Matt Reeves' The Batman has not gone unnoticed and has got an overwhelming response globally. The world got to see Batman in a never-before-seen iteration, which engrossed the audience into this different take on the superhero genre. Following its release, talks regarding its potential spin-off show out of which The Penguin has been confirmed and the film's sequel has come into the discussion. There have also been rumors about the Joker being the next villain in The Batman's sequel. But Matt Reeves has come up with his point of view focusing on who would be in the second installment of the franchise. He has finally answered the question that everyone was trying to figure out the answer for -- 'Will Batman's trusted sidekick Robin be a part of the sequel?'

During his appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast hosted by Josh Horowitz, when asked about a potential introduction of Robin, Reeves replied, "There is a possibility of Robin appearing in a sequel but it would have to make sense emotionally. There have to be emotional stakes so you get drawn into that character's story. I don't want that character to become a cipher. I don't want it to be like, okay, so we saw that it wasn't an origin tale but it was kind of Batman's origins, and now he's just perfect. No, you need to test the character again, again and again, and for me, there might be something in bringing in Robin."

So, only time will tell what Matt Reeves has in store for us. Until then, we are just left to revel and bask in the success of one of the best superhero movies out there. The Batman stars Robert Pattinson in the titular role along with Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farell, and Andy Serkis in pivotal roles.
