With all the restrictions subsiding, which were made due to the deadly coronavirus pandemic, everything has become more relaxed now. Most importantly, movie theatres are now open functioning at a full 100 per cent capacity. This is great news for all film buffs as this year has some great releases coming this way. That being said, let us look at some of the biggest releases of this weekend at the cinemas, which might help you to plan your weekend watch (in no particular order of importance):

1) THE BATMAN (English):

Written and directed by Matt Reeves, the film stars Robert Pattinson as the eponymous character, Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Jeffery Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone and Colin Farrell as The Penguin. The film follows Batman venturing into Gotham City's underworld when a sadistic killer starts leaving behind a trail of cryptic clues. As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator's plans become clear, he forges new relationships to unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the metropolis.

2) HEY SINAMIKA (Tamil):

The film is about Mouna, who falls in love with Yaazhan but after two years of their marriage, she grows bitter about his constantly talkative character and tries to get rid of him. Soon she chances upon Malarvizhi to devise a plan but what ensues is a complete twist of events. This directorial debut by Brinda stars Dulquer Salmaan, Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari in the love triangle.

3) JHUND (Hindi):

Written and directed by Nagraj Manjule, this biographical sports film is based on the real life story of a certain Vijay Barse who went on to become the founder of NGO Slum Soccer.

4) BHEESHMA PARVAM (Malayalam):

The film tells the story of Michael, a former gangster turned maritime transporter from Fort Kochi. Ensuing a series of unfortunate events and death threats to his family he is forced to revisit his past. This action thriller is written and directed by Amal Neerad.

5) NARADAN (Malayalam):

This political thriller film directed by Aashiq Abu presents a dramatic journey of Chandraprakash, a popular news anchor in the media world who is desperate to prove his worth.

6) AADAVALLU MEEKU JOHAARLU (Telugu):

This romantic comedy film, written and directed by Kishore Tirumala, is all about a young man who is caught between the women in the family, his love interest and her mother, and how he survives all the struggles.

Other than these newly released movies, Valimai, FIR and Bheemla Nayak have already been running quite strong was a few days now and definitely worth a watch. Plan your weekend accordingly!
