Suriya's next big film, the tentatively titled Suriya 42, is currently one of the biggest Tamil ventures in production, and sees the leading actor-producer collaborating with blockbuster director Siva of Viswasam and Annaatthe fame. Jointly being produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green and Vamsi-Pramod's UV Creations banners, a major chunk of the production on the upcoming film has already been completed, with the team on Friday, February 10, sharing a casting call update for aspiring actors. Studio Green in their latest announcement are seeking out well-built male body-builders in the age group of 25-55 with facial hair (beard & mustache) and long hair, while informing interested candidates to send in their latest photographs and work links. This latest announcement from the Suriya 42 team will no doubt come as a big opportunity for aspiring body builders and actors wanting to make it into the film industry, while also sharing screen space with a big star as Suriya. The film has been in hot buzz among the National Award-winning actor's fans ever since it was announced last year and the title along with the first look poster are expected to be out soon. Suriya 42 has been billed to be "a unique entertainer made on a grand scale" and will be coming out in 10 languages.
Leading Bollywood actress Disha Patani will be making her Tamil cinema debut with Suriya 42 and her inclusion in the film is undoubtedly a major USP considering she enjoys a massive youth fan following. The film has music by chart-buster composer Devi Sri Prasad, whose work in the nationwide blockbuster, Pushpa: The Rise, continues to be celebrated by fans, and Suriya's ardent following will be looking for him to come out firing on all cylinders after he delivered hits in Mayavi, Aaru, Singam, and Singam 2. Earlier, the Suriya 42 motion poster had created a lot of curiosity among fans, especially after it showed warriors of different clans like 'Arathar', 'Venkaater', 'Mandaankar', 'Mukaatar', and 'Perumaanathar on the battlefield, thus hinting at the ambitious scale the film is being made.
