One of the leading names in the action department in Indian cinema, 'Supreme' Sundar's latest work can be witnessed in Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar's Thunivu released in theatres as a grand Pongal treat. Directed by H. Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, the top stunt choreographer's efforts in the fight sequences in the mass heist action entertainer continue to be the talk of the town. With Thunivu out in theatres now, 'Supreme' Sundar recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta to talk about the Ajith-starrer, while also opening up on his working experience with leading Malayalam filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, who has expressed his desire to make films with National Award-winning Tamil actors Suriya and Vijay Sethupathi.
'Supreme' Sundar, who had collaborated with Lijo Jose Pellissery in Jallikkattu, said, "He will definitely come to the Tamil film industry because we last spoke to Suriya sir and everything was almost ready. It hasn't been confirmed yet, but he said he will do a film with Suriya sir. He's also discussing a project with Vijay Sethupathi sir and that too will happen. Since Lijo sir is doing many films in Malayalam, he has to come here, sit down and do his work here. He adores Suriya sir a lot. He often used to ask me about doing a film with Suriya sir and I would encourage him to pursue it. It would bring me immense joy if that happened. He's someone who will give you what you think and is one whom we all like. I don't know why it hasn't happened yet and getting pushed further away. But, I think it will happen for sure."
Lijo Jose Pellissery, who garnered a massive fan following over the years with his films like Amen, Angamaly Diaries, Ee.Ma.Yau, and Churuli to name a notable few, has now teamed up with Malayalam superstars Mammootty for Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, which was released earlier this week, and with Mohanlal for the upcoming Malaikottai Valiban announced sometime back. As for Suriya and Vijay Sethupathi, both the leading Tamil cinema stars have big projects lined up ahead. Suriya is currently filming the tentatively titled Suriya 42 with director Siva after which he's expected to begin shooting for ace filmmaker Vetri Maaran's Vaadivaasal. The Jai Bhim actor will also be making a cameo appearance in the Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role under Sudha Kongara's direction. Vijay Sethupathi, on the other hand, will be seen next in the Telugu film, Michael, starring Sundeep Kishan, which is hitting theatres worldwide on February 3. He is making his Hindi web series debut as well in Farzi starring Shahid Kapoor under Raj & DK's direction, which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. The Kadaisi Vivasayi actor will also be seen in an extended cameo in Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai parts one and two in Tamil, which has Soori playing the lead role, while also being a part of the silent film Gandhi Talks directed by Kishor P Belekar featuring music by A. R. Rahman. Vijay Sethupathi is set to have a big 2023 in Bollywood as he is playing the antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan's highly-anticipated Jawan, followed by appearing as the lead in Merry Christmas opposite Katrina Kaif, with the Hindi remake of the Tamil film Maanagaram titled Mumbaikar also expected to come out as well sometime this year.
