Expectations for the mass masala political entertainer are huge and will see STR playing the role of a Muslim, with his character's name revealed to be Abdul Khaaliq. Apart from Simbu, Maanaadu's multi-star cast also includes Kalyani Priyadarshan as the female lead, followed by SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee. Mahendra and veteran directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in pivotal roles.
