The entire country was completely shocked after hearing about the custodial death of a father and son that happened at Sathankulam in the district of Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. Jayaraj (59) and Bennix (31), who were arrested and brutally attacked by the police officials at the Sathankulam Police Station, lost their lives after being severely hurt by the physical injuries. This incident has created a massive outrage in the state and the people of Tamil Nadu have come together, demanding justice for the innocent civilians who lost their lives for no crime. The entire social media is abuzz about it and the netizens are expressing their anger over the police officers who were behind this inhumane act.

Not only the general public, even celebrities and star actors across the country have raised their voices and condemned the police attack. Recently, actor Suriya issued a statement regarding this issue and it created a huge buzz on social media. Having said that, actor Sivakarthikeyan has now posted a tweet in support of Jayaraj’s family, requesting the Tamil Nadu Government to take necessary action against the ones who were behind this incident. He also added that the punishment should be really severe. “The ppl behind the brutal crime should be punished as per the law & the punishment should make sure that these kind of crimes are not to be repeated again.I request the Government to give every one of us the hope by giving #JusticeForJayarajandBennicks”, he tweeted.

On the work front, Sivakarthikeyan’s next release would be Doctor, which is directed by Nelson of Kolamaavu Kokila fame. 20 - 25 more days of shooting is left for Doctor to be completely wrapped up and these remaining portions will be shot as soon as the lockdown is uplifted and permission is given for shootings to resume.
