Simbudevan: From kings to cowboys!
When he made Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi, Simbudevan created history with Vadivelu playing the main role. The movie went on to become a blockbuster, proving that a good comedy film with a strong storyline can create wonders at the box-office. He may not have had the same success with Arai En 305il Kadavul, but the director has always pushed the limits by trying something new.
His next film Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam is a western with a Tamil flavour starring Lawrence and three beauties: Padmapriya, Lakshmi Rai and Sandya. Of course, this one is a comedy too, but with a western flavour. The movie also stars Nasser, Saikumar, Mouli and Manorama in pivotal roles.
Set in the 1850s, the look of the film is designed by art director Muthuraj, the man behind the magnum opus Pazhassi Raja. Azhagappan handles the camera and music is by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
