Silambarasan TR's 2021 has kicked off on a bang, with the multi-talented actor's Eeswaran released this Pongal witnessing a strong audience turnout in theatres. Simbu, who stunned fans with his radical physical transformation last year, including returning to social media, has been updating fans on a consistent basis on his various film endeavors and the developments in his personal life. In that light, the actor has now shared a video of himself with his mother, who is seen feeding food to her beloved son. The video shot sometime back shows him sporting a thick beard, while also playing with his sister Elakkya's son Jason. We see STR and Jason having a cute interaction, with the video since being shared by the star going viral on social media and receiving a strong response from fans, who have been touched by the heartwarming gesture by his mother. 

STR and his fans are set to have a grand 2021 as the actor has a number of promising projects lined up, with his upcoming next, Maanaadu, under director Venkat Prabhu's direction generating massive buzz. Billed to be a mass masala political entertainer, Maanaadu marks the first full-length film association for Simbu and Venkat Prabhu, with composer Yuvan Shankar Raja as well on board to deliver the tunes. Yuvan has been a common link both the creators' previous films and has composed chart-busters, with his score in the Maanaadu motion poster released recently fetching a positive feedback. Production on Maanaadu is expected to kick off in the days ahead, with the makers intent on presenting a cracker of an entertainer for fans. 

Likewise, Simbu will begin shooting for his Pathu Thala under Sillunu Oru Kaadhal fame Krishna's direction, with Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman announced to be composing the music for the film. Touted to be a political mafia thriller, the film is an official remake of the Kannada blockbuster Mufti, which had Shiva Rajkumar in the lead role. Pathu Thala has created massive interest among fans as it will see Silambarasan reprising Shiva Rajkumar's role as a gangster, with Gautham Karthik as an undercover cop, who is paired opposite Priya Bhavani Shankar. 

Simbu will also be seen in an extended cameo in Hansika's  landmark 50th film, Maha, which will be their reunion on the big screens after their Vaalu in 2015. Among the other projects in development for STR are films reportedly with director Ram, Mysskin, including the possibility of Poda Poda 2, which is said to be in early stages of pre-production.
