Silambarasan TR has been the talk of the town for sometime now, especially post his radical physical transformation, while also completing his upcoming Pongal 2021 release, Eeswaran, under Susienthiran's direction in a span of less than 45 days. Currently filming his Maanaadu at Pondicherry with director Venkat Prabhu, Simbu and the Eeswaran team had come across a roadblock after a video showing the star handling a live snake in a bush and putting it into a sack went viral on social media. Having said that, the Animal Welfare Board of India (AWBI) has now sent a show cause notice to the producers of the film for the use of Computer Generated Snake (look-alike of Indian Cobra) in the teaser and poster without obtaining a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

The Animal Welfare Board of India in their notice further stated that the Eeswaran team must send in their response within 7 days as to why they didn't get the NOC, while also informing them to stop circulating the poster and teaser of the film. AWBI's statement is as follows:

"Sub: Show Cause Notice for Using Computer Generate Snake (Look-a-like of Indian Cobra) in the Movie trailer and postser of the Eeswaran Tamil Movie without obtaining NOC from the Board - Reg.

With reference to the above cited subject, it is brought to the knowledge of the Board that "Eeswaran" a Tamil Movie has recently released its Trailer and poster in which a computer generated Snake (Look-a-Like Indian cobra) is being used without obtaining No objection certificate (NOC) from the Board.

It is submitted that in this Movie poster and trailer has shown computer generated Snake (look-a-like of Indian Cobra) as a medium of entertainment without obtaining any pre shoot permission (PSP) or NOC from the board in direct violation of the Performing Animals (Registration) Rules, 2001.

Below is AWBI's notice:

It now remains to be seen what steps Balaji Kappa's Madhav Media takes in regard to the Animal Welfare Board of India's show cause notice. Both the Eeswaran teaser and the poster have received a huge response from fans, with the film currently in its post-production stages. Produced by KV Durai & MDM Sharfudden under the D Company banner, the film will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. S. Thaman is composing the music and is his third collaboration with Simbu after Osthe and Vaalu. Eeswaran will see STR romancing Nidhhi Agerwal from the Jayam Ravi starrer Bhoomi, while veteran director Bharathiraja, actress Nandita Swetha and Bala Saravanan have been cast in important supporting roles.
