Released last weekend, ‘Makkal’ Selvan’ Vijay Sethupathi’s latest ambitious outing, Seethakaathi, directed by by Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame Balaji Tharaneetharan has been receiving tremendous acclaim from critics and audiences alike. A Passion Studios venture, the film also includes reputed names like Parvatii Nair, Gayathrie Shankar, Remya Nambeesan, Bharathiraja, Mahendran, Archana, Mouli, Bagavathi Perumal among others with music by Govind Vasantha.

With the film in its fifth day today, it has now been officially announced that Seethakaathi has been trimmed to 2 hours and 30 minutes from its original runtime of 2 hours and 53 minutes. Although this might come in as a bit of a disappointing news for fans of Vijay Sethupathi, it is mostly unlikely that his portions would have gone under the scissors on the editing table considering the versatile star is featured for very little time in comparison to the film’s entire duration.

The 25th film of Vijay Sethupathi, Seethakaathi marks a hat-trick of critical successes for the star, whose delivered hits in the form of Chekka Chivantha Vaanam and 96 earlier this year.
