Manoj K. Jayan in a meaty role

Manoj K. Jayan,�ex-husband of actress Urvasi, is well-known for his villainous roles in South Indian films. His first appearance on screen was in 1988 for the Malayalam tele-serial�'Kumilakal'. Then he debuted into films with Maamalakkapurathu, followed by Perunthachan and Sargam, for which he won the Kerala State Film Award�(best actor) in 1992. He has acted in more than 70 movies so far.

Lying low for almost a decade, Manoj K. Jayan bounced back into an exciting career in Mollywood and Tollywood with his scintillating performance as the wily, ruthless tantric Digambaran in director Santosh Sivan's Ananthabhadram (2005), which�earned him praise and accolades along with the best actor award from the Film Critics Association of Kerala. Today, he is acting for all Southern languages.

Now, Manoj K. Jayan has a meaty role in�Chilambattam (Malayalam), directed by Aneesh Varma. Produced by Jithesh and Nitheesh under the banner of Click Media Arts, Chilambattam is scripted by Sudamsu. Music is scored by Kaithapram Visvwnathan. Sasi Rama Krishnan wields the camera. Cast members include Jagathy, Sai Kumar, Salim Kumar, T.G. Ravi, Kunchan, Meera Vasudev, Archana Menon, Meena Ganesh, Jeejo Surendran and others. The shoot will begin in Tenkasi soon.
