Mani Ratnam's magnum opus has been steamrolling itself to success ever since its grand release on September 30. The film has taken over theatre screens and has been the center of attention for its larger-than-life story, extravagant set pieces, its music, and whatnot. 

Set in the early age of the Chola dynasty, the film left no stone unturned when it came to the wardrobe. The costume department led by Eka Lakhani evidently did a brilliant job in selling the world to us with its unique and aesthetic choice of clothes for each actor portraying the iconic characters. 

The makers of the film, through the official Twitter handle of Lyca Productions, shared a small sneak peek into all the diligent work that went into the making of the beautiful costumes for the movie. The video features the costume designer as she dwells into her work with so much enthusiasm and is seen giving it her all. Sharing the 36 seconds clip, it was captioned as, "Here’s a sneak peek into all the meticulous work that went on behind the stunning costumes of #PS1! Ponniyin Selvan: I is a epic historical action drama film produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions. the film serves as the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel of the same name. The film stars an ensemble cast including Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban and Lal. 

The music was composed by A. R. Rahman, with cinematography by Ravi Varman, editing by A. Sreekar Prasad, and production design by Thota Tharani. The film received high praise for its direction, cast performances, musical score, visuals and faithfulness to the novel.
