A film that has fans across the nation waiting with bated breath, K. G. F: Chapter 2's shooting is nearing completion and will see Yash reprising his role as Raja Krishnappa Bairya aka. Rocky. The first installment, K. G. F: Chapter 1, released in late 2018 went on to become the highest-grossing Kannada film of all-time, while also getting dubbed in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi as well. Being directed by Prashant Neel under Vijay Kiragandur’s Hombale Films banner, creative producer Karthik Gowda on Wednesday announced on his Twitter page that Yash will be joining the final leg of shooting for KGF: Chapter 2 from Thursday (October 8), while also adding that the production will be wrapped up by the end of the month. He further added that the next step would be towards the release of the film. Check out his tweet below:

Apart from Yash, KGF 2 will see the return of Srinidhi Shetty as the female lead, with Sanjay Dutt set to make his appearance as the dreaded Adheera. The film will also include several notable names such as Malavika Avinash, Anant Nag, Archana Jois, Vasishta N Simha, Avinash BS, Achyuth Kumar, Balakrishna in major supporting roles, while Prakash Raj, Raveena Tandon, Saran Shakthi are some of the new additions to the cast. Production on KGF: Chapter 2 had resumed in August, after the film's shooting was halted indefinitely for a period of nearly five months due to the lockdown imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic crisis.

KGF: Chapter 2 is carrying massive expectations as the first installment surprised fans around the country and stormed its way into record viewership on OTT and television. Expectations for the sequel are massive especially in Tamil Nadu, considering the first film turned out to be a staggering success. Yash had earlier this year revealed that KGF 2 will include double the action sequences, while adding that the fights would be bloodier, more gory and longer in comparison to the first film. Last week, the film's composer Ravi Basrur had posted a story on his social media page looking for musicians who can play instruments such as the trumpet, tuba and trombone, which he revealed was for the recording of KGF 2. Ravi Basrur's songs, especially his background score, went on to receive high praise from fans considering it provided the mass energy throughout the narrative.
