Directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Vijay Kiragandur's Hombale Films banner with music by Ravi Basrur, the period action film featured power-packed performances from the entire star cast, including skills being displayed at the highest levels by the technical team among whom also included cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda. On the occasion of KGF: Chapter 2 hitting the half-century mark in its run in theatres, Bhuvan shared an emotional statement on Twitter about the film's success and tweeted, "movies are made with passion, passion leads us to seek perfection,  and in the end,  cinema always wins! and somewhere in the pages of the history of indian cinema, our passion will always have a place. our passion, our pride, our KGF". Post the success of KGF 2, there has been a big talk about KGF: Chapter 3 in the making, with Creative Producer Karthik Gowda last month issuing a clarification stating, "The news doing the rounds are all speculation. With a lot of exciting projects ahead of us , we @hombalefilms will not be starting #KGF3 anytime soon. We will let you know with a bang when we start the work towards it." Apart from Yash, KGF: Chapter 2 had strong performances from Raveena Tandon, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, Srinidhi Shetty, and a large ensemble cast.
