After the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Bollywood heartthrob Kartik Aaryan is all set to team up with Anurag Basu for Aashiqui 3. The actor made the official announcement by sharing a picture with Anurag Basu, Pritam, Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt on his official Twitter handle. After these official announcements were made by him, his entire fanbase and various renowned stars from the film industry took their time off to congratulate him on bagging this project. They shared their well wishes for him across various social media platforms.
In a recent interview with Variety, Kartik spoke about Aashiqui 3 and shared his excitement about the project. He said, "The timeless classic Aashiqui is something I grew up watching, and working on Aashiqui 3 is like a dream come true. I feel privileged yet grateful for collaborating with Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt for this opportunity. I've been a big fan of Anurag Basu's work and collaborating with him on this one will definitely shape me in many ways". Aashiqui 3 will be produced under the banners of T-Series and Vishesh Films.
The original Aashiqui was released in 1990 and was helmed by Mahesh Bhatt. It starrer Rahul Roy and Anu Aggarwal in leading roles, while the second instalment was revived by Mohit Suri in 2013 and featured Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapur as the leads.
