Leading Tamil film director PS Mithran, known best among fans for his Vishal-starrer Irumbu Thirai and Hero with Sivakarthikeyan, is all set to tie the knot. The hit filmmaker got engaged to film journalist Ashameera Aiyappan on Friday and photos from their engagement ceremony, which saw many notable personalities grace the joyous occasion, have now gone viral on social media, with fans as well conveying their hearty wishes to the young couple for the next big phase in their lives together. 

Indru Netru Naalai director R. Ravikumar, who is awaiting the release of his Ayalaan with Sivakarthikeyan, took to Twitter to share a picture from Mithran and Ashameera 's engagement proceedings and extended his congratulations to the happy couple. Likewise, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, known for his work in films like Sindhubaadh, Aadai, Sillu Karuppatti, and Doctor, too was one among the guests at the engagement and he too shared a photo from the ceremony on his social media page. Meanwhile, on the work front, PS Mithan's next big directorial is the Karthi-starrer Sardar, which will see the star alongside youth sensation Raashi Khanna, with the supporting cast also featuring names like Karnan heroine Rajisha Vijayan, Laila, Bollywood actor Chunky Panday, alongside Munishkanth Ramadoss, Murali Sharma, and Ilavarasu among others. Touted to be an action thriller, the upcoming film produced under the Prince Pictures banner and featuring Karthi in dual roles as a police officer and as an aging convict has been announced by Red Giant Movies to hit screens worldwide as a grand Diwali release this October and will include music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. There is quite a lot of buzz surrounding Sardar as fans await Mithran to deliver yet another action-packed thriller along the lines of his Irumbu Thirai starring Vishal, while Karthi too will be looking to come out with memorable performances in his doubt act this time.
