Suriya is basking in the glory of his sensational performance as Rolex in 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan's Vikram directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, which also stars 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. The actor-producer's cameo continues to be the talk of the town three weeks after its release as fans on social media are expressing their hope to witness him once again as the drug syndicate chief in either Kaithi 2 or Vikram 3 next. In that light, blockbuster Tamil films producer-distributor K.  E. Gnanavelraja recently sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta and praised Suriya for his electrifying performance in Vikram, while also explaining why he prefers the actor to not appear in guest roles.

K.  E. Gnanavelraja said, "I came to know about Suriya sir's look and his scenes in Vikram before he went for the shooting. Anytime he does a guest role, I'm a little against it. I say this because I always feel that an artiste should not get diluted by working in another film. But, when I came to know about this role, I took it optimistically because it hit me positively that something great is going to happen. Furthermore, the fact that Suriya sir was a part of Kamal sir's biggest hit has given him and me a lot of joy. For Kamal sir to give the space and for Suriya sir to accept it at the right time, I hope such collaborations happen in the future for Tamil cinema to make great strides."

Producer Gnanavelraja, who had initially announced in early 2019 that the film with Suriya and director Siva, Suriya 39, would be produced under his Studio Green banner, will now instead be bankrolled by UV Creations; best known for their Saaho and Radhe Shyam. The massive change has been done keeping in view the large scale leading to a rise in the film’s budget, and all sights are now on when the announcement will be made for Suriya 39

Suriya is currently starring and producing in his upcoming Suriya 41 being directed by National Award winner Bala and will mark the third occasion the duo will be collaborating after their Nandha and Pithamagan. Likewise, he will also be teaming up with Vetri Maaran for the highly-anticipated Vaadivaasal being produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu's V Creations banner and the excitement is sky-high for the film after a test shoot was held a few months back.
