'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan fans are in for a big treat as it has now been announced that a major update from Indian 2 directed by blockbuster Tamil filmmaker Shankar will be coming out on Sunday, October 29. The team of the highly-anticipated film dropped the big announcement on Saturday, October 28, along with a teaser poster with the text "TOMORROW 11 AM" and "Received copy" along with the name Senapathy in Tamil inscribed on it. Expectations for Indian 2 have been massive right from the get-go as it will showcase Kamal Haasan reprising his role as Senapathy from Indian (1996), which was also directed by Shankar and became a box office blockbuster, while also garnering cult classic status over the years.

Indian 2 is currently in the post-production stages and a video showcasing the start of the dubbing in Chennai with Kamal Haasan and Shankar was also released by the film's team showing the two Tamil cinema stalwarts at work. The promotional material released for the political action drama so far has received a stunning response from fans and is yet another testimony to the tremendous hype and excitement surrounding the film. Up until now, the promotional material for Indian 2 has been centered primarily on Kamal Haasan as Senapathy and fans will be waiting with bated breath for something big from the team next.

Although Kamal Haasan is headlining Indian 2, the film includes several big names starting with Kajal Aggarwal, who had undergone extensive physical training for her role, with Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, S J Suryah, and late actors Vivek and Manobala, among others, featuring in the ensemble star cast. The film also marks the second time 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is composing the songs and the background score for a Kamal Haasan film after the box-office money-spinner Vikram (2022), and there will be high hopes from him to deliver yet another chart-topping hit album. Indian 2 is also an important film for Shankar, who had been shuffling between the production of the Kamal Haasan-starrer and his upcoming Telugu cinema directorial debut, Game Changer, starring Ram Charan, for well over a year, and the hit Tamil filmmaker will no doubt be looking to come out with flying colors once again.
