We all know that director Shankar has produced the successfully running film Kappal, directed by his former assistant Karthik G. Krish. This film has used Ilaiyaraaja’s song ‘Ooru Vittu Ooru Vandhu’ in the film.
Ilaiyaraaja is said to have sent a legal notice to director Shankar for using his song without his consent. We hear that the music director seeks royalty for using his composition in the film.
It is said that director Shankar had sought permission from Agi Music Pvt. Ltd. to use the song. But, Ilaiyaraaja’s publicist has cleared the air saying that Agi Music does not hold the copyrights of the song.
