Gold is an upcoming Indian Malayalam-language comedy-drama film directed, edited and written by Alphonse Puthren of Premam fame. Produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen under the banners of Prithviraj Productions and Magic Frames, the film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the leading roles along with Krishna Sankar, Roshan Mathew, Deepti Sati, and many others in the supporting role.

A new update on the film has come up. It was announced by film distributor Karthik Ravivarma through his official Twitter handle. Sharing the official poster of the film, he said that the film is in its final stages of post production and will be ready this month. He also mentions that the new release date for the highly anticipated film will be announced soon as well.

The story of Gold is touted to unravel the incidents that take place within four days of Joshi, a mobile shop owner who purchases a new car owing to a marriage alliance that is almost fixed with a girl called Radha. In addition to writing, editing and directing the film, Puthren also worked on the stunt choreography, visual effects, color grading and animation titles of the film. It marks his return to direction after seven years since 2015's smash hit coming of age romance film Premam.

The shooting of the film wrapped all the way back on June 14 and has been awaiting release since then. The music of Gold is composed by Puthren's regular composer Rajesh Murugesan while also marking his first collaboration with Prithviraj. All the lyrics are written by Shabareesh Varma. The digital rights of the film are bagged by Amazon Prime Video.
