Galatta Cinema April: Movies in Focus

So├п┬┐┬╜Anushka's sizzling on the cover and in the cover feature and just so the girls don't feel left out, we have Arya, looking his 'hot-chocolatey' best!├п┬┐┬╜Then for all those movie buffs who want to know everything there is to know about some highly-anticipated movies, we have this fun new section called FLICK PICK.

Two of our FLICK PICK films have already hit the screens and are being appreciated by audiences. They are Paiyya and Kacheri Aarambam. Paiyya, from Thirupathi Brothers, is directed by Lingusamy and stars Karthi and Tamannaah. The movie is a fast paced car drive-cum-chase from start to end. Yuvanshankar Raja's songs have been topping the charts ever since the album hit the stands. The movie itself is a fun watch, and a must watch!

Coming to Kacheri Aarambam...├п┬┐┬╜Produced by R.B. Chowdhary, directed by debutant Thirai Vaanan, starring Jiiva and Poonam Bajwa, the movie is action and romance interestingly intertwined with super comedy sequences with Vadivelu at the helm. The movie has managed to keep audiences entertained throughout with an entertaining narrative style and story.

Other movies that feature in Galatta Cinema's FLICK PICK section include Maanja Velu, Ethirmarai and Thillalangadi.

Maanja Velu is produced by Feather Touch Entertainment and directed by A. Venkatesh. Arun Vijay Kumar reprises the action avatar he set spinning with Malai Malai. An out-and-out commercial venture, the movie has some awe-inspiring fight sequences brilliantly choreographed by Kanal Kannan. Galatta Cinema presents a very visual feature on the movie that also throws light on some of the finer aspects of Maanja Velu.

Thillalangadi, starring Jayam Ravi and Tamannaah, is directed by Jayam Raja and produced under the Jeyam Company Banner. The movie is the Tamil remake of the Telugu movie Kick. But what recently made news is the 360 degree song that was canned for it – a song that was shot using hi-tech equipment. Find out more in Galatta Cinema April 2010 issue.

Ethirmarai is directed and produced by G. Arun under the Escope Entertainment banner. The debutant director-cum-producer insists that his venture must be called a movie and not a film. The reason? Well, the movie is being made with superior quality digital cameras that have not been used till date in Indian Cinema. G. Arun hopes that his movie will initiate a digital revolution in film-making. Check out interesting details about the movie in the magazine.
