In tragic news, popular film critic and movie critic Kaushik LM passed away due to cardiac arrest in his sleep at around 2 p.m. in the afternoon, on Monday, August 15. He was 36. Kaushik was also a part of Galatta Media and appeared as a video jockey (VJ) in several important interviews with leading celebrities, and garnered appreciation over the years for his love and passion for cinema with his film reviews and box office analysis reports. He is survived by his mother and a younger brother. It has been informed that Kaushik's mortal remains will be cremated today, August 16, at 3 p.m.

Kaushik was known to be a staunch and committed worker to his craft and earned the praise of social media users and followers for his astute views and anecdotes on films that came out in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, and English, and other languages. The news of Kaushik's sudden demise has come as a massive shock to his family, friends, and many personalities from the entertainment industry and other walks of life. Many notable celebrities and fans have taken to social media and expressed their condolences and paid their tributes to Kaushik since his passing. 

Known for bringing to light different facets of films, Kaushik's last tweet was about the box office collections of the recently-released Telugu film, Sita Ramam. Upon coming to hear the news about his death, the film's stars, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna paid their respects on social media. Dulquer expressed his sorrow and tweeted, "@LMKMovieManiac  This is truly heartbreaking. I so so wish this isn’t true. I cannot imagine what your family is going through. Kaushik we know each other mostly through Twitter and a few personal interactions. You have always shown me so much love and support 💔💔💔" He added, "Life’s too short 💔💔 RIP brother. Thank you for the encouragement and kindness and always standing by good cinema. I can’t seem to word these tweets properly. This hits me personally. Im so so sorry."
