During the initial days of lockdown, it was revealed that Fahadh Faasil and director Mahesh Narayanan (of Take Off fame) would team up for an experimental film that will be shot during the lockdown. Talking about the project, Mahesh Narayanan had told TOI, “It’s not a film per se. It’s a small exercise we are doing among friends on iPhone to check if we can come up with a new format.” The film is completed and all ready for release now. Yes! This experimental film which will run for an approximate of 1 hour is all set to release on Amazon Prime Video on September 1.

The film is titled C U Soon. The makers have now released the official trailer of this project which looks quite interesting and intriguing. It looks like C U Soon has a very strong premise and the trailer is suggestive of that. Fahadh Faasil makes his presence felt with this glimpse and we can be sure that there will be a lot more from him in the film. The other two leads are played by Roshan Mathews and Darshana Rajendran who show good promise. The trailer has created good expectations among film buffs who are looking forward to the release.

A section of the fans have cited resemblances with the English film, 'Searching' which released in 2018, considering the fact that that film also had a similar treatment. This unique attempt has garnered attention and let us hope that the film turns out to be a good source of entertainment amidst the lockdown. The trailer has been released on the official YouTube channel of Prime Video.

Kamal Haasan released the trailer of the film and wished the team for the success. He shared the trailer and wrote, “Dearest @maheshNrayan #FahadhFaasil and C U Soon team, wishing you all the best for the premiere of #CUSoonOnPrime on September 1 on @PrimeVideoIN”. Notably, Mahesh Narayanan is a former associate of Kamal Haasan who has edited films like Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam 2.

The film is produced by Nazriya Nazim and Fahadh Faasil under the banner of Fahadh Faasil and Friends. While Mahesh Narayanan has taken care of the screenplay, direction, editing and virtual cinematography, the normal live action sequences are shot by Sabin Uralikandy.
