'Thalapathy' Vijay will kick off 2023 with the release of the highly-anticipated Varisu, which has been announced to open in cinemas worldwide for Pongal in January. S. After the completion of production on Varisu last week, popular stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan on the occasion of Diwali announced to fans that the action scenes in the film will be intense and fun. In that light, the hit action director sat down for an exclusive interview with Galatta and shared details on Varisu, while also talking about the videos of the fight scenes that had leaked on social media during production.

Speaking about the leaked Varisu fight scenes, Dhilip Subbarayan stated, "It is a taxing experience for us all because we have shot them after a lot of hard work. There were sleepless nights for many people for nearly six months and a lot of effort has been invested into making these scenes." He added, "People casually film those scenes and release them online. I can see that they are doing this because they are excited, but this is extremely wrong. For example, a person is creating something for everyone to see, and when that is revealed without his knowledge, it ultimately is about the work that is contributed."

Varisu has Vijay and Dhilip Subbarayan working together once again after the duo collaborated in Theri in 2016, with the action sequences in the film receiving a huge response from fans. The action choreographer's latest statements about the fight scenes in Varisu have left everyone excited considering there were rumblings sometime back on social media that the film would be devoid of any action.
