Thalapathy Vijay is currently busy shooting for his next film, Varisu which is scheduled for a grand theatrical release in January 2023 for the festive occasion of Pongal / Sankranti. The film carries high level of expectations among the fans and film buffs and it is expected to showcase the light hearted side of the star actor. After featuring in a series of action packed movies, it would be interesting to see Vijay in a light hearted family drama. The shooting of the film is nearing completion and more updates are awaited. Meanwhile, a super exciting update on Varisu has been revealed by music director Thaman and the update has set the fans in excitement.

The grand pre-release event of Sivakarthikeyan's Prince took place this evening (Oct 18) in Hyderabad and Thaman, who is composing music for the film, took part in the function. During his speech, Thaman made a big revelation that the first single from Varisu will be released for Diwali and only a few moments later, he realised that he let out the word fast. Talking about it, Thaman said, "Manoj has been shooting for Vijay garu's film (Varisu) and we are shooting a song which is releasing for Diwali". In a matter of few seconds,

Thaman realised that he spilled the beans and added, on a lighter note, that he unknowingly made the first official announcement about the song release. So, Thaman's words have now confirmed that the first single song from Varisu will be out for this Diwali, either on October 23 or October 24, and we shall wait for an announcement from the production side. From what Thaman says, it looks like cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa has shot a song in Varisu because the cinematography for the film is done by Kharthik Palani. Varisu is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations.
