'Chiyaan' Vikram's next big film is the highly-anticipated Thangaalan, which sees the National Award-winning Tamil actor teaming up with acclaimed filmmaker Pa. Ranjith and was launched in July last year. The upcoming film's story is set in the pre-Independence period and is being produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green and Ranjith’s Neelam Productions banners, and features music by G. V. Prakash Kumar. With production in full swing on Thangalaan, the chart-buster composer shared an exciting update regarding the film's songs saying that two tracks have already been recorded, while also informing fans that he's trying an international tribal mix for the audio and added that it's turning out to be a unique experience for him as he had never tried to something along those lines before.

On Friday, January 27, G. V. Prakash tweeted, "Super excited about the way #thangalaan audio is coming . Finished Recording two songs.Come out with an international tribal mix of audio which is unique for me I haven’t tried it before .Super excited". This latest update from the hit music director has come as a big joy for fans, who are looking forward to the hit music director delivering yet another chart-topping album. G. V. Prakash, who won the Best Background Score award at the 68th National Film Awards last year for Soorarai Pottru, too will be hoping to hit it big with the Thangalaan album, which is also the first time he is collaborating with Pa. Ranjith.

Thangalaan will see Vikram sharing screen space with big names like Maryan actor Parvathy Thiruvothu, Pasupathi, Malavika Mohanan, Harikrishnan Anbudurai among others in key roles, and had an intriguing title announcement released sometime back giving audiences the first visual glimpse from the film, including introducing each of the characters. There is massive excitement surrounding the film as fans are looking forward to what Pa. Ranjith is coming up with next after his Natchathiram Nagargiradhu, while also expecting to witness Vikram in yet another power-packed role Ponniyin Selvan.
