Ace Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith is celebrating his birthday on Thursday, December 8, and is currently busy filming his next film, Thangalaan, starring 'Chiyaan' Vikram. Being produced by K. E. Gnanavelraja's Studio Green and Ranjith’s Neelam Productions banners, the upcoming film has generated a lot of interest and curiosity among fans ever since it was announced earlier this year, with the team also releasing an intriguing glimpse a while back to reveal the title. With wishes pouring in for Pa. Ranjith, Studio Green has now released a special birthday tribute dedicated to the filmmaker, which also shows him in action with Vikram on the sets of Thangalaan where the actor is seen getting his makeup done for his look and character in the film.

The Pa. Ranjith birthday special video starts off showing his rise in the Tamil film industry after his film-making debut with the rom-com Attakathi (2012), which he followed up with the Karthi-starrer blockbuster Madras (2014). The visuals then proceed to show moments from his Kabali (2016) and Kaala (2018) with 'Superstar' Rajinikanth before ending with scenes from Sarpatta Parambarai (2021) and Natchathiram Nagargiradhu (2022). The video then proceeds to show Pa. Ranjith at the Thangalaan shooting spot where he is witnessing Vikram's transformation with the help of makeup assistants, while the filmmaker also chimes in with his few own suggestions.

Thangaalan is one among the several projects Pa. Ranjith is currently working on as he had announced at the Vikram audio launch that he will be directing a film with 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan soon. He has also announced his Bollywood debut and will be making a biopic on the Jharkhand tribal leader Birsa Munda. Apart from his directorial ventures, Pa. Ranjith is producing films like the Yogi Babu-starrer Bommai Nayagi and J.Baby featuring veteran Tamil-Malayalam actress Urvashi. As for Thangaalan, the film will see Vikram sharing screen space with Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, and Harikrishnan Anbudurai, with the music being composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar.
