'Superstar' Rajinikanth's Jailer will be premiering on leading streaming platform Prime Video starting September 7. The announcement comes after the film's stupendous performance at the domestic and international box office, with the collections recently revealed to have crossed 525 crores. Rajinikanth's Jailer directed by blockbuster filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar and featuring chart-topping music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander is now reportedly the first-ever Sun Pictures-produced venture to head to Prime Video and is coming out on OTT nearly a month after its theatrical release on August 10.

With Jailer set to premiere on OTT in the days ahead, fans will be looking to witness Rajinikanth in action once again on the big screen before streaming it on Prime Video. Although it's been three weeks since the film came out in cinemas, the audience turnout has remained strong even on weekdays and all sights will now be on how much the film has made at the box office to date. Jailer has turned out to be a money-spinner for producer Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures as it has smashed several big box office records en route to registering massive collections. Among the most notable records the mass action entertainer has achieved is becoming the highest-grossing film for Rajinikanth in the U.S. collecting more than $5 million at the box office, while also garnering the status of the highest-grossing South Indian venture of all time in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries.
Rajinikanth's Jailer is yet another successive commercial outing for Sun Pictures with the actor after their previous collaborations Enthiran (2010), Petta (2019), and Annaatthe (2021). The film's star cast featured several big names including Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar, iconic Malayalam star Mohanlal, and Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff making cameo appearances, while Vasanth Ravi, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Mirna Menon, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq, Sunil, Marimuthu, Kishore, Rithvik, Karate Karthi, Mithun, Arshad, Naga Babu, Billy Muralee, Sugunthan, Saravanan, Aranthaangi Nisha, and Mahanadi Shankar seen in supporting roles, with Mariyan fame Vinayakan cast as the antagonist.
