It's been a week since Bigg Boss Tamil season 7 began airing on Vijay Television with 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan as the host for a record seventh consecutive time. A total of 18 contestants from various walks of life were chosen for the 2023 edition among whom also included acclaimed writer Bava Chelladurai. A week into the show, Bava Chelladurai announced his decision to walk out of the show citing health reasons. He is now the second contestant to exit Bigg Boss Tamil 7 after Kamal Haasan announced last week that popular social media influencer Ananya Rao had been evicted from the show as part of the elimination process.
On Monday, October 9, Bava Chelladurai informed Bigg Boss that he had been experiencing chest pains and conveyed his request to exit the show. After counseling him to take time and reconsider his decision, the celebrated Tamil writer reiterated that he wanted to leave the show due to his health issues. "I'm unable to continue on the show because of my health. And, there's no reconsideration about that. I'm not able to continue. The housemates looked after and took care of me like a father. I was hoping to add value to the show, but I want to because of my health and mental health. I will never forget this gesture. Thank you so much," Bava Chelladurai said in his explanation to Bigg Boss in the Confession Room before his exit.

Earlier on Sunday, October 8, Saravana Vickram was elected as the second captain of the Bigg Boss Tamil season 7 house and was tasked with choosing other contestants to be sent to the Small Boss house among whom was also Bava Chelladurai, while the other participants included Pradeep Antony, Aishwarya, Maya, Cool Suresh, Vishnu and Vijay Varma. Considering Bava Chelladurai has exited the show now, it remains to be seen who will be substituting him or whether another person will be entering the Bigg Boss Tamil 7 house next.
