Ashwin, who is well known for playing the policeman with a negative shade in Mankatha, is all set to play the lead in upcoming film Megha. The film, which is touted to be a family entertainer, is being directed by Karthik Rishi, a former associate of Subramania Shiva, and features debutante Shrusthi in the female lead. Jayaprakash, Ravi Prakash, Narein, Meera and Nithya will be seen playing supporting roles. Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja will be composing music for the film.

Ashwin will be seen playing a middle class city boy in Megha, which is a Chennai based film. The actor reveals that the film is filled with loads of romance and emotions, and the shoot is progressing in full swing in some live locations in Chennai.

Megha being Ashwin's first film as solo hero, the actor is fully aware of the expectations on him and is completely enjoying the responsibility. But the actor says that he is still open to playing supporting roles, especially if it is alongside actors like Ajith. He feels it an honor to work with an actor as big as Ajith.
