Ajith Kumar's Thunivu has completed 50 days in its theatrical run and is still running in cinemas. The mass action heist film written and directed by H. Vinoth, and produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios, has turned out to be a huge box office success and was released in Tamil Nadu by the Red Giant Movies, while the overseas distribution was handled by Lyca Productions. On the occasion of Thunivu completing 50 days in cinemas, Boney Kapoor, on March 2, at the stroke of midnight, released a new poster featuring Ajith, which has since taken social media by storm.

Thunivu released on January 11 ahead of the Pongal weekend ensured audiences turned up in large numbers in theatres everywhere to witness Ajith in a completely new avatar once again. The actor played a grey-shaded character in the film heading a team of operatives and conducting a heist in a major bank in the heart of Chennai city with their motives being mysterious. Thunivu continues to reap praises for its performances, story, technical aspects, and daring action sequences, with the film currently streaming at the top on Netflix ever since its premiere three weeks back.
Ajith joined the $1 million club with Thunivu and the superstar hit a new high as the film is also the highest-grosser in the actor's career to date in North America. The film was also the third-time collaboration for the Tamil actor with H. Vinoth and Boney Kapoor after their Nerkonda Paarvai (2019) and Valimai (2022), and is now their biggest triumph as well. Thunivu also broadened Ajith's star appeal in the international markets as Lyca Productions did a terrific job in getting the word out about the film overseas. The film also saw National Award-winning actress Manju Warrier come up with yet another fiery performance after her powerful role in Dhanush's Asuran directed by Vetri Maaran in 2019.
